Yao Xiao
My name is Yao Xiao. You may call me Yao. I am a 19-year-old boy from China. I am majoring in Computer Science at Boston University because I really enjoy the sense of creating and beauty of logic when I am writing code. I am dreaming to run a technology company when I am 30-year-old. To achieve this goal, I am preparing by improving my programming skills and accumulating experience of conducting business in a start-up company.
Besides getting A/A- scores at subjects, I also have diverse experience in my school, like commerce club and research assistant. I even made some profit by building an APP providing service of pre-ordering food. Nevertheless, I learned CPR and got certification from American Heart Association.
To learn more knowledge and experience about the society outside school, I have two internships. One is tutoring high school students in AP physics or computer science. In the other one, I am the project manager at a start-up cloud service company. I did not only practiced my CS and business knowledge by connecting marketing and technology departments, but also learned several new skills like leading a team, negotiating with customers.
Other than studying and working, I have several interests. Ultimate frisbee is my favorite sport. I really enjoy the feeling of throwing the disk far away with fancy skills. Photography is another interest taking my most spare time. Taking beautiful pictures to record memorable moment gives me the sense of achievement.
